Deep learning models are applied to downscale the global AI model rainfall predictions from FourCastNet, FourCastNet V2, and Pangu-Weather to 5-km resolution. The downscaled rainmaps better reflect the influence of terrain and local circulation on rainfall near Taiwan, and correct the under-predicted heavy rainfall at a time scale of 24-h.
